Dogs die in hot cars…

This weather is perfect for the beach, and it so easy just to stop at the shop on the way home isn’t it? Surely it would be ok just to leave the dog in the car with the window open right?? WRONG! Cars get hot very quickly and dog’s can overheat in a very short period of time.

Did you know that on a 25°C day the temperature inside the car can reach 38-49°C in less than 10 minutes, and on a 32°C day the car can reach 71°C ! Added to that is the fact that dogs can only cool themselves through panting and can only sweat through their paw pads. Not very efficient.
