The wine and cheese loving city slicker obsessed with her staffy Daisy (AKA crazy Daisy)
I’ve always had a love of animals but always thought I wasn’t mentally strong enough to deal with all aspects of the veterinary industry, So after graduating high school I joined the airlines to take advantage of free travel and pursue another interest I had. After 3 years of that I still had the desire to experience the vet industry life. I approached my local clinic to ask for work experience and the owner welcomed me. One shift in and that was it, I was hooked!
The next calendar year I enrolled as a full time student to study and become a qualified veterinary nurse. I graduated with high results and secured a full-time position from my student work placement. I continued to work in this hospital for three years learning the tricks of the trade and cementing my position as a senior nurse.
Time for a Sea Change
I approached Vasse Vets for a nursing position because I had heard amazing things about the clinic. I was amazed at the state of the art facilities and skilled vets/nurses when I toured the clinic. I was lucky enough to be offered a Head Nurse position which I accepted very quickly!
What made me move to Margaret River? Well my soon to be husband decided we would put a house on our Margaret river block and here we are, enjoying the region’s best wine and cheese. Not to mention the amazing beaches! This is where I spend most of my days off, exploring the coastline with my dog Daisy who loves a good body surf! I enjoy all things adventure and I’m a mad netball fanatic having played competitive netball for 13 years.
My favourite part of nursing is emergency. I have thoroughly enjoyed the sea change and working at Vasse Vets as the Head Nurse, although moving down in winter took a lot to get used to!
I look forward to building lasting and trusting relationships with you and your pets.
